Pigmacolor Dispersant A
Dispersing agent for water-based systems
Application area:
dispersion paints
Properties:
dispersion paints contain fillers, in particular traditional micronized calcium carbonate
Dispersion of these fillers in water-based systems should be achieved with standard equipment and should not form agglomerates or increase viscosity. Conventional inorganic dispersants do not solve this problem properly; or due to the fact that their complex and deflocculating action is limited by the size of the fillers used. Or because of poor temperature stability, which causes hydrolysis and limits their effectiveness.
Dispersant A has been specially developed to solve these problems. It provides complete dispersion of fillers and inorganic pigments at high insoluble solids content and in systems with high RFC content.
Chemical nature:
ammonium polyacrylate
Specifications:
Appearance: aqueous solution
Color: yellowish
Solid content (%): 44±2
Viscosity: Max.1000cps (Brookfield.RV,200C, S#5, 50 rpm)
Packing: 60 — 130 kg PET barrels
Storage: the product is stored for a year under proper conditions
Safety: No special precautions.
Application:
Dispersant A must be present during pigment and filler dispersion and must be added prior to mixing with other products. The dosage level is determined by plotting the dispersion in water against the amount of dispersant added. The dosage level of the dispersant corresponds to the dosage at which the viscosity will be minimal, selected as the addition level. The standard dosage ranges from 0.5% to 1.5% of the active substance based on the total weight of pigments and fillers.
It is recommended to disperse pigments and fillers at a pH level between 7.5 and 9.5.
Dispersant A is also used in adhesives and wallpaper pastes.
Before using this product, we advise you to carefully read the Safety Data Sheet.
