Silicone Resin Emulsion

Characteristics
Solvent-free, water-dilutable silicone resin emulsion.

Properties
— Provides high permeability of water vapor and CO2

— Strengthens the paint product against exterior conditions and provides longer lifetime

Application
SerpaRes R 53 is employed as a main binder in silicone based masonry paints. If formulated properly, the products made with SerpaRes R 53 are characterized by superior qualities such as high permeability to water vapor and CO2, low water absorption, low soiling tendency, a mineral like appearance and longer life.

Processing
SerpaRes R 53 should be added to the paint product in ratios of 3—10% depending on the end use properties desired to be achieved in the final product. For excellent beading effects, SerpaRes R 53 should be added to the formulation as well.
Facades must be primed before painting for optimal protection. 

Storage / Shelf Life
SerpaRes R 53 has a shelf life up to 9 months if stored in tightly closed original containers between 5—35°C. If the material is kept beyond the shelf life recommended, it is not necessarily unusable, but quality control should be performed on the properties relevant to the application. The containers must be protected against sunlight and frost.

30, 60, 120 and 220 kgs plastic drums or 1,000 kgs IBC containers.
