SerpaSan S 50
Water Repellent for Masonry Paints
Characteristics
Solvent-free, water-diluted emulsion of functional polysiloxanes.
Properties
— Provides excellent water repellency and causes beading effect on the surface
— Yields high water resistance
— Yields high water vapor permeability
— Increases the resistance of the applied surface against outside factors, and ensures longer life
Application
SerpaSan S 50 is mainly used as a;
— Water repellent additive for the manufacturing process of aqueous masonry coatings
— Water repellent impregnation agent for the production of isolation materials
— Water repellent aqueous primer for the mineral based substrates SerpaRes R 53 is especially suitable for the production of;
— Silicone resin based masonry paints and plasters (mineral)
— Silicate emulsion paints and plasters
— Highly filled water based coating products
— Aqueous facade primers
— Insulating materials

Processing
SerpaSan S 50 can be used without dilution and with an addition amount of 1—5 wt % during the production of masonry coatings.
SerpaSan S 50 should also be used as a water-repellent primer diluted with 1:9 parts by weight with water. For the impregnation of insulating materials, it is recommended to dilute SerpaSan S 50 with water in the ratio of 1:100 to 1:200 parts by weight.
Storage / Shelf Life
SerpaSan S 50 has a shelf life up to 9 months if stored in tightly closed original containers between 5—35°C. If the material is kept beyond the shelf life recommended, it is not necessarily unusable, but quality control should be performed on the properties relevant to the application. The containers must be protected against sunlight and frost.
Packaging
30, 60, 120 and 220 kgs plastic drums or 1,000 kgs IBC containers.
